The Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club is an affiliate of Rotary International, which began over 100 years ago in Chicago. Today, Rotary flourishes worldwide with over 1.2 million members in more than 200 countries. One of Rotary International’s most significant contributions to the world is the organization’s work toward eradicating Polio.

Argentine Exchange Program. Our club has coordinated an annual exchange program since the early 1990s, involving local PVCC students and students from Otto Kraus Technical School in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Guatemala Habitat Program. We are partnering with a local Rotary Club in Antigua, Guatemala and Guatemala Habitat for Humanity to construct a home in Chimaltenango The trip will be for one week in mid-May, 2009. We will provide the cost of the materials and will provide the volunteer manhours to construct the home.
Cameroon Water Project. The three area Rotary clubs are supporting the project to bring safe drinking water to the village of Wum, Cameroon. The project is well underway with an expected completion in 2010.
ShelterBox USA. Shelterboxes are sealed boxes packed with materials necessary to support a family of 10 up to three months in a natural disaster situation. Our club supports this organization by collecting donations.
Group Study Exchange. The three area Rotary clubs are hosting 5 members of a Group Study Exchange from India. We will not only house those visitors but will also introduce them to area businesses.
