Joe Varaksa
Joseph Varaksa joined our club in March of 2008. The presentation for the first meeting Joe attended as a guest, was a group of individuals from South Africa. We all knew that Joe was going to be an active member when he came back to visit a second time and asked to take the podium. He then told us all about how he had invited the entire South African group over to his house for dinner. Joe’s efforts didn’t slow down any after his induction. He immediately volunteered to head up our Men who Cook effort, later to assist with the coordination of our Salvation Army dinners and more recently he has been serving as the Coordinator of a growing and active Community Rotaract Club. Rotaract is a service club for young people age 18 through 30. Our Rotaract club is particularly significant because it is the first Community based Rotaract club in our District and Joseph is doing an absolutely fantastic job with these young people.
We are blessed with many many members who regularly go above and beyond the call of duty---- but we would like to take this opportunity to honor Joe for jumping in so quickly and so tirelessly and for accomplishing so much in such a short period of time.
We all look forward to continuing to work with Joe for many years to come.
